🌍 Overview of Hell’s Gate National Park

Hell’s Gate National Park is located in Naivasha, Nakuru County, just about 90 km northwest of Nairobi. Unlike most other Kenyan parks, Hell’s Gate is unique because it allows walking, cycling, and rock climbing within the park boundaries. Visitors are drawn to its towering cliffs, deep gorges, steam vents, and geothermal landscapes.

Whether you’re planning a quick day trip or a full exploration of its attractions—including Fischer’s Tower, the Ol Njorowa Gorge (now partially restricted), and hot springs—understanding the park’s entry fees is essential for budgeting.

Oct 2025 Fee Increase at Hell’s Gate NP Halted

Effective October 1, 2025, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) had planned to introduce new, higher conservation and park entry fees across all KWS-managed national parks and reserves — including Hell’s Gate National Park. Under the new schedule, entry fees for Hell’s Gate, Mt. Longonot, and Kakamega National Reserve were set to rise to KES 500 for East African citizens, KES 675 for residents, USD 50 for non-residents, and USD 20 for African citizens.
However, these increases were temporarily halted by the High Court following a petition filed by the Kenya Tourism Federation. On October 2, 2025, the Milimani High Court issued conservatory orders suspending the implementation of the new rates pending determination of the case. As a result, the old park entry fees remain in effect for all KWS-managed parks until further notice.
This means that for now, Hell’s Gate National Park continues to charge the previous standard rates as follows: KES 300 per adult and KES 215 per child (ages 3–17) for Kenyan citizens; KES 300 per adult and KES 215 per child for residents; and USD 26 per adult and USD 17 per child for non-residents. These rates will remain valid until the court delivers its final ruling on the matter.
